Working with Point clouds from 3D laser scanning

Hi guys,

Is it possible to load point clouds to AutoCAD Plant 3D and create as-built 3D model by using its modeling tools (pipes, valves, equipment, ...) to snap (or to best fit) on point cloud?

Ardegast,

AutoCAD Plant 3D 2010 doesn't have the ability to work with point clouds.
However, we've been working with the AutoCAD team who have released AutoCAD
2011 that does have the ability to load point clouds in it. You can find out
more about the future plans for Plant 3D in the Plant 3D beta forum.

Hi Peter,

where can I find beta forum?

P.S.: I tried to instal Leica CloudWorx 4.1.2 for AutoCad and it was implemented to Plant 3D succesfully. I am waiting for the demo license to test it.

Type Pointcloud at the command prompt in Plant 3D. You can Attach/ Index/ Density/ Lock the point cloud.
