WISH LIST AUTOCAD PLANT 3D 2015

I would like to start to give work for the developers even before the official release. As I understood from the 2014, these are not available; please take the following in 2015 release:

1. Spec driven P&ID.

2. Per bid engineering ( for proposal purpose). The prices will be fed for all particular items in spec, in report creator, the costing should appear after multiplication with the quantity

3. Direct stress analysis link with any major softwares like CAESAR, CAEPIPE or Rohr2.

4. Basic civil shape intelligent for columns, footings, beams, windows, doors and staircase

5. Basic electrical intelligence for electrical cable trays, ducts etc.,

6. Custom parametric modelling of supports and equipment a as per user wish.

7. Display of coordinates for pipes in Navisworks.

8. Built-up section structural steel member creation and display of centr line of structural steel members in ortho view.

9. IS standard incorporation in steel catalog.

10. Steel structure report in Report creator

- Pisibility to create 3D elements sets, for example: Socketweld+Nipple PE+SW Valve + Nipple TOE + Plug, all this with one click.

- Structural Detailing integration

- Use Custom Part command for insert elements from any Catalog

- Jacket pipes

- Modify Structural catalog from Spec Editor

- Line Groups in Data Manager

- Parallel routing pipes

- Structural beams references in isos

+1 for jacketed pipes.  More, for jacketed piping that is logical and workable.  Its one of the most devlishly difficult things to model/generate BOM/spin isometrics for.

Remove ASD from Plant3d, as ASD is not the complete detailing software, which has got many bugs. Because of ASD, the Plant3d market business is getting affected.

Thank you for voicing your request on the items listed. The Plant development team is always looking at input from our customers and always looking at making the program better. Some of the items listed are already being looked at by the team. Also, please visit our Plant Excahnge Feedback web site, here you can also leave your feedback to the Plant team.

Well,

personally I will wait for the official release, install, test, try the new features and see what requirements realised.

Than I can post my recommendations, no sooner...

But that is really only my personal opinion.

The sooner wish list will give more time for the development team to start their work instead giving at the last. This will help them in a month time to cumulate and prioritise. Some features we may get in the service pack also if it is simple to do program.

12. Addition of weight in Isometric table...please at least add this time or inform the users, this can't be programmed, so that we can look for other softwares which uses Isogen engine

13. Template for Multistage centrifugal pump.

14. Parametric modelling of equipments and supports creation feature in Plant 3d space.

15. Reduce ISO generation time in by-pass lines.

16. Posibility to manual define schematic ISO lines, change the length and orientation of elements, before to generate iso.

17. Update ISO and not regenerate, in case if there are changes in 3D.

18. Solve  problem of Stub-in in excentric SWAGES.

19. BOM list in ORTHO views.

20. Posibility to generate isometric-ortho view of one selected line number. (Now is necessary hide all to project one line)

About Weight on isometrics. If you put weights in the model, it will come out in the PCF. Have you tried adding it to the BOM? Does it not work?

Weight on Iso BOM. I see the topic discussed in detail in another thread. I tried it and see that it's not working. Thanks for the heads up. I'll see what I can do about it.

Hi !

I will repeat my requirement what I did for the 2013 and 2014 wishlist.

Hopefully I have better luck next time!

"I want to set up a bent pipe segment. The feature "pipe bend" is good but does not solve my problem completely.

In a bent pipe there is no buttweld at the end of the bends and there should be an overall length for the whole segment.

The purpose of the pipe bent (for the smaller sizes usually) is to bent the pipe without having a separate elbows and buttwelds.

Right now the software generate a pipe bend and I can edit manually the parameters of the geometry. But that is still a separate element with buttweld on both ends."

Thanks in advance!

Yes, the above requirement is an imperative too. To model tubes inside boilers, the above feature is required.

With Plant Design Suite Ultimate, you now have Inventor with Routed Systems. You can produce bent tube models in there. With those models you can produce ybc and xyz files for use with bending machines.

Well,

my company has only the Plant design suite premium plus 2014, but even if I had that I would not want to use Inventor to make the bent pipe. Because I don't know the result when I want to generate ISOs.

I want to use Plant 3D only to make the bent pipes. And right now it is not possible unfortunately.

To model the whole plant, we might need to use all Autodesk products. From the reply I find, the investment cost of Autodesk product will be less, but the operational cost will be high. we may need highly qualified engineers to perform all the models in different platforms of Autodesk. Nobody ll be in market ouside, who ll be knowing plant3d, Revit, mep, inventor together. I find more justification rather than acceptance. I have faith and need this software to be used everywhere. Otherwise I won't spend everyday apart from my work time here.
