that the difference between select for example 'size' with 'use target object's property' marked or unmarked
in final difference between selecting options 'tag format setup' with 'use target object's property' marked unmarked

Hi,
If the Use Target Object check box is selected, the properties that can be chosen are constrained to those that are available within the current class.
If the Use Target Object check box is deselected then you are no longer constrained to the class properties that can be inherited.
For example, with it deselected a Valve tag can acquire the line number from a line – “Pipe Line Group.Line Number”.
You could consider the check box to be a shortcut that allows you to quickly show only the properties for the class you are working on rather than having to browse through the entire class list.
Thanks,
Dan
