User Wish List

Not to sure if the powers that be will look at this or not, but thought I would start a user "Wish List" with ideas/thoughts/wishes on how to improve Plant 3D.

Ideas should be hopefully new or improvements on items not pointing out errors in current program. (hopefully AUGI will pick this up at some stage or maybe the community Autodesk is talking about).

Ideas like this.

Cable Trays/Ladders ( working similar to pipes)

Adding custom parts to catalog (by using users 3d shapes like equipment)


1)We really need the ability to take a 3d shape and add it as a part into the catalog. Assign end types, description, SKEY, and all other properties of normal catalog items.

2)We also need the ability to make brand new entries in the catalog (not just copy similiar items and make changes).

The ability to selected the Bolt & gasket types prior to running a line (maybe in the pipe insertion area of the ribbon) a couple of drops which list the different types of gasket & bolts within the current selected spec.

1) Legend for P&ID drawings

2) "P&ID Equipment List" similar like "P&ID Line List"

3) BOM for ORTHO drawing 

4) Validation in 2012 version doesnt work corect, dont see error for situation when in P&ID we have 10 tanks, in Plant 3D we have 8 tanks, this is no problem for validation this is huge mistake 

5) More plastic parts catalogs 

6) Like someone says before when we take valves or pipe from "P&ID Line List" we dont have any information when we take the compnent again, i recomanded in next versions change the color or something information like "This valve is used in P3D now" 

7) Pipe Support Editor, make we create new support like we create new equipment 

😎 Two way connection beetwen AutoCAD Plant 3D and Inventor

9) Automatic upload specyfication from P&ID to Plant 3D, for example if we change diameter in P&ID from 100mm to 200mm Plant 3D automaticly changed this pipe

10) Simple generator from Steel Structure, or raport generator for steel structure for example lenght of Member etc.
