Updating Fitting Size in Catalog & Updating Spec

Question. I have had to change some fitting dimensions (3D) in the catalog. But I already have a spec created completely with full descriptions. I need that new size part to update in my spec and model. The only option I see in the Spec Editor is under 'Specs' > 'Check updates from Catalog' Now this does change and update the part size, but it also changes all my descriptions back to default. How can I update the size of a part in my model and spec without losing all my pre-entered spec data? Thanks.

Depending on what version of Plant 3D you're using you can tell Spec Editor to not update the descriptions when doing an Update Spec from Catalog.

Open Spec Editor and go to Spec > Update Specs From Catalog Settings. In this dialog you can pick and choose what data fields get updated.

Using Plant 14, so I do see that option. I didn't know if the actual component size properties was linked in there somewhere. I'll deselect all those properties and give it a try and report back. thanks.

That's what it was and it worked. I just deselected all the editable properties. Thanks.
