Unlock Length in properties for valves

how can i unlock LENGTH in properties for valves (see .png)?

for true control valves and not on/off valves with an actuator they are not usually an ANSI standard length. PSV/relief/angle valves can also vary. i would like to be able to add a valve to my spec and either enter the "L" dimensions on insert or be able to adjust the "L" dimension after the fact.

as most designers know and stress over you don't always have the take outs/information you need when doing the initial design, espically with inline instruments which is why i wish the valves were more dynamic.

and yes i know you can use custom parts but i want all my designers using the same graphics with the same description, ie...placing components from the pipe spec.

Flanged PSVs should be following API 526 for the most part.  But otherwise, yes.  Control valves are a particular thorn from a design perspective.  Data sheets are frequently left to late in the design process.
