Unable to insert part in a drawing

After creating a series of valves in a catalog, copying the part family to a specification and saving everything prior to exiting the spec editor, every time I try to insert the valve into a pipe system I get the same message "Geometry can not be generated with the given parameters.  Can't find symbol for specified part."

Need help here, can't identify where I went wrong.  Thanks

Hello,

This error is usually related to an unexpected dimension value that was set in the sizes tab of the catalog editor.

Getting all the parameters correct can be tricky.  For complicated components, I recommend using plantcustomparts to create a part that uses the same shape.  This allows you to test dimension values and quickly get feedback that they are correct.  Another thing you can do is to compare dimensions between your component and a similar component of the same size.
