steel won't show up properly

Help! I have to start adding massive amounts of steel to this model today or tomorrow and I cannot figure out how to get it to show up properly.  It had been working fine up until this morning and now it is all messed up.  The I beam and the L beam just show up as a single line and then the I or L in the middle.  Impossible to work with it this way.  I have tried all the visual styles and cannot fix it.  This had happened before and the messing with the visula styles fixed it but it won't work this time.  See attached file.
