Spec Editor 2013 - Fastener

Hi,

is there a way to create a "Custom - AutoCAD DWG Block based graphics" fastener/clamp using the plant 3D Spec Editor 2013?

I know i can create a fastener using the option "Plant 3D Parametric Graphics" but it won't work for my needs.

Thx

It is not intended to Autodesk AutoCAD Plant 3D Custom - AutoCAD DWG block based graphics to use as a fastener.

Sorry for no better answer.

r.

Hartmut

How has this still not been added 10 years later? So I cannot add a custom Tri-Clamp? The Plant 3D parametric fastener looks awful. Is there a workaround here?

Dear @robbie.gray ,

It is technically not possible to add a custom block as a Fastener. It will also not be possible to change this in Plant 3D.
However, you can solve this problem via Python scripting.
There are also other solutions in AKN.
Please select the one that suits you best and implement it.

You can do this through the compound joints.  The clamp will not be a fastener, but it gets the graphic through blocks.

Ok well that’s good, how is that done? And will a clamp show up on the ISO’s?

check how a sleeve is defined in the compound joints, the clamp is similar with other graphics. You wil need a smple joint between pipe and clamp , and a compound joint between the pipes. You will need to work with an new pipe end code.
