Guys, this is a very frustrating situation, I can not simply route a straight pipe+45 elbow+straight pipe+another45 elbow+another straight pipe... in a single operation...
Something is wrong with this model, It also fails when I retrieved it to a new new project and tried the same excercise. I have made a lot of tests without success. I don't know if it's a problem related to view configuration or something like that.
Not sure which pipes you are trying to connect, but I'd just try to do it in multiple operations. I find the routing to be unreliable alot of the time.
I use construction lines to put some of my piping together, when automatic routing fails.
Hi John, Thank you for answering...
The problem still exists when I help my self using lines. Did you retrieve the model I attached?
I think the problem is the model. It actually connects when you force it, but it strangely does not allow to route in a normal way. It dodoesn't permit to route a 45 gyrated section it acts as if a tolerance for pipe distance were turned on, but I think is something related with views.
yeah i'm looking at the file, and while I cannot connect the pipes ( I do not have the project files )
eyeballing the drawing, white pipe - 45 ells mid upper NE section?
the two 45's do not looke like they are lined up properly - which would make routing impossible, but a forced connection possible.
All I can suggest is double check to see if the two fitting faces are lined up correctly, if you havn't already that is.
John.
It does not compute the line to pipe, even when you draw a line and apply the "line to pipe" it also fails...
If it is possible please try.
The project files are not the problem, since when I do a new model It doesn't present this problem. Try with your own files it doesn't matter.
I cannot do anything with the fittings, since I do not have the project.
but the reason why it may not connect, is when I look at the model, the fittings do not look like they are squared to one and another. You may need to rotate the fittings so they line up together flush.
John: Maybe to understand me properly you should do the exercise with an "X" project. Thank you very much.
I seem to have failed to explain what I see in your file. Sorry for wasting your time.
Are you still having the issue?
With you question: " I can not simply route a straight pipe+45 elbow+straight pipe+another45 elbow+another straight pipe..."
Are you saying within your current project it is not allowing you to drawing a pipe run with this sequece?

This happnes with me every time.
My "solution" is create a lot of reference lines to position the fittings and than rote the pipe between them.
It happens always with 45° alignments.
John, I think I was the one that I didn't explain very well. I understood what you posted before, thank you very much...
It doesn't matter which pipe spec you use to do this exercise, it anyway presents this same problem.
And the problem comes when you use the route pipe or the line to pipe. I attached an explanation of my problem in this post.
On the other hand, I have a backup of this same model when it did not have this problem. It is ver strange for me.
Quentin: I still have this problem... Thank you.
I want you to look at this video I created for you.

I routed a pipe, selected my ELL 45, entered in N for my orieNtation and then continued with my next ELL 45 and then continued with my pipe. Are you taking advantage on your command prompt and the options that it gives you are you are routing pipe? As you can see as well I was able to route a pipe by line without any problems.
I hope this helps.
