Revit Exported Steel not showing up in Ortho's

When trying to create our ortho drawings the steel created in Revit and exported to dwg will not show up. We have tried all the available options to export the steel and none of them work. The files shows up in the edit view stage but when the actual ortho is cut we get everything displayed except the steel.

What am I doing wrong?

I had to place a piece of pipe in the file to get it to add to the project and now it works with the ortho's.
