Project Wide Ortho BOM

Hi All,

Looking for a way to produce project wide ortho BOM tagging.

I have three drawings which contain the same components however i want to place three different BOM's on each ortho. Then export the total BOM into excel to produce a document with all numbers corresponding.

My problem is ....

THe BOM's do not hold the same ID number on each drawing.

How can I force Plant 3d to hold the same ID number for the same component across multiple ortho drawings.

ie a Ball valve on one GA is being tagged as item number 54 on one drawing and the same valve is being tagged as item 37 on another GA.

I'm pretty sure the id numbers are generated on the fly when the BOM is created.  I doubt they are stored anywhere you can reference later.  If you know .NET or are adventurous and have a lot of time on your hands  this could be done with the API.

jabowabo is right. The ortho BOM will be created on the fly. So you are not able to reference them and you are not able to merge them to one Ortho BOM. If you are interested in  a project wide BOM you can do this by using the Report Creator.
