Hello
I am working on a process plant and we had to quickly get a concept model done to realise and coordinate the building footprint.
The P&IDs were almost done at the same time but the timeframe did not allow us to route the 3d model from the P&IDs.
We now have a polished model and a complete set of P&IDs, all the pipework, valves and equipment in the model are un assigned.
How easy is it to now assign the P&ID data to the drawn model.
I have brought up the P&ID Line list in the mode and can see the lines, valves etc, but have yet to ascertain how I can now assign the P&ID data to my model.
Any help would be greatly accepted, from either users like myself or Autodesk Support Team.
Kindest Regards
Darren
Right click on the PID line and click "Place Item". Do the same for the valves
It also depends on how you setup your project and line numbering etc, but out of the box it works fine.
Actually is only posible to insert from P&ID lines and valves.
For equipment I do the follow process:
- Edit Equipment list in the data manager reports (this option is in Project setup)
- In default configuration all equipment of this list is from P&ID data base, but is posible to add new columns from Plant3D database. If you insert the column of the DWG Name from database, it will be posible check easy which equipment is inserted.
Normally when you assign TAG of equipment on 3D and the TAG is the same as from P&ID, for Plant3D this equipment convert in the same, but without coping properties....one thing which I don't understand...and hope that it will be changed in the feature release.
