Plant 3D 2014 and Structural Detailing 2014 Compatability

I am trying to use a Structural Detailing 2014 model as the structural background for my Plant 3D 2014 model.  I am attaching it as an XREF (I have tried both attach and overlay for this) and the display of the structure is fine.  When I try to create an ortho view however, only the the objects created in Plant 3D will display in the ortho drawing. The structure does not display.

Is there a way to display the structure in the ortho views?

Did you add the ASD model to the project?
If not add the ASD to the project using the copy drawing to project option from the project manager.

I did copy it to the project.  I tried to bind the ASD model to the P3D model.  Now when I try to create an ortho view I get an unhandled exception.  I have recovered both DWGs and recovery found no errors in either.
