Looking atthe dmpuserinfo.xml, it seems like the fatal error is due to one of the ribbon component. Can you try the following and see if that avoids the fatal error?

1. Open the application

2. type ribbonclose

3 quit and restart the application

4. Now open the files and see if they open fine.

I understand this is not a workaround, but wanted to check if the ribbon UI is the actual cause of the issue.

Good to know that the fatal error doesn't occur once the ribbon is closed. May be that the ribbon components were not installed properly. Can you try repair install option and see if that helps? Also make sure that you have the

"AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT 2012 SP1 Ribbon Hotfix" installed as well. You can find that at
