PID to 3D End Connection Mapping

I am having an issue when placing components from my P&ID line list...

When I place a valve from my line list the end connections are incorrect.

Attached image 1 is of the model and placed plug valve...

Attached image 2 is of the PID with flanged plug valve...

Attached image 3 is after I replaced the valve through the replace glyph... note the tag information was removed...

Note:

1. The properties in image 1... end connections are flanged, but the valve is a butt weld type...

2. This was all in an out of the box Plant 3D 2011 project.

3. The end connection mapping would be less of an issue if I could replace the valve without having to reenter the tag information...

I am wondering if this is a limitation of plant 3D 2011, and if this issue was resolved in the 2012 release?

Does anyone know of a workaround for this problem?

The insertion methods follow the spec.  So, the highest priority item gets inserted.  The tag gets replaced in 2012; we are working on getting that resolved.

Dave,

Thank you for your reply!

Is there a way to add criteria on the 3D model inserted from the P&ID line list? So I wont have to replace the valve and edit the tag every time? If not is this something that is being worked on?
