P3D 2014 Structure Mode Bug

Hello,

I’ve experiencing some weird actions in the Structure Mode of P3D 2014. Following the walk through of the actions that cause the error:

1 – I've made some lines for guide my structure (1200 X 600 X 1200)

2 – I've applied the “Member” command to turn the line into Structure (AISC > C > C4x7.2)

3 - I've used the “Structure edit” button to change the orientation and align point

4 – I've used the “Miter Cut Member” to join the edges of the structure

5 – “Save” and “Export to Autocad”.

When I open the drawing exported from P3D the edges are not cutted and the alignment of the Structure is wrong.

Same thing happens if I simply explode the Structure Member, or even if I create an Ortho View from the P3D command.

I've tried this with with the 2013 version, and everything is ok. No error.

Any Idea on what may have happened?

Thanks!

Daniel

I was able to reproduce the problem as well. I have passed this along to the Plant Development team and they will be looking into correcting the issue. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I discovered this problem as well a couple of days ago. This seems to happen with all the channel shaped sections on all the various specs. Hope the dev team will cook up a fix fast. Thanks for rasiing the issue.

Does not work for Plate as well in ortho view nor exported dwg. And if i somehow change the COG of the plate, the entire plate dissapears from the ortho view.

How come this was not tested before releasing the product?

Extension 1 seems to have fixed the bug. I wonder why it is not mentioned in the readme file. (This is mentioned "Numerous minor bug fixes" but i wouldn't call this minor bug).

But then, there might be more problem after installing the extension (Check recent post) although I haven't run into those issue yet.

I can't confirm/deny the bug, in that I have Ext 1 installed.  That said, I do not get the bug, so like Rave.Tam suggests, the Ext 1 may have had as a by-product, the fix.

Extension 1, on Subscription.  Before installing, review http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Plant-3D/DO-NOT-INSTALL-EXTENSION-1/td-p/4361192.  It has some problems but the good out-weighs the bad
