we absolutely have to have layer control when in the Ortho Cube. as of now (2014 Ext2) if you turn a layer off while in ortho cube it still shows up when creating the new view. you can turn layers on/off here but it is not functional as it leaves a "cut out" or will not reveal an object underneath it.
futhermore you have to go into every single model you are referencing and adjust layer control, cut ortho dwgs, go back to references and restore layers. time consuming and annoying.
the ortho generator has come a long way but this is a major issue for us.

Definately agree with this need. I have been working with P3d for about 4 months now and I am working on my Orthos now and have been struggling with this layer issue. Now I atleast no that it cannot be done yet. Come on AutoDesk, this issue should have already been solved. Every other program out there can do this easily. I almost would rather just use clipping planes verses the ortho crap yall have created. Yall need to step it up. I believe yall should hire some ACTUAL piping designers to help with creating this program. After using it, it is clear that there are ZERO actual piping designers are involved with Plant 3D. You don't even have the option for Backing Flanges, which is just about all that Paper Mills use. Sorry for my rant, I'm just fed up.
I make a separate drawing with all the files for the Ortho in it as XREF's.
This way I know what is in it and any adjustments are very quick since I do not need to worry about freezing/unfreezing layers in a master drawing for different Ortho drawings.
