No P&ID line number is the line number selector

Can anyone help with this?

In previous projects(and versions of P3d) we had the P&ID line numbers in the Line Number Selector of the Part Insertion panel, but now we are getting this comment where the line numbers should be;

 Part Insertion Tag Pull-down P&ID error.png

We have done some fine tuning of our setting with the switch from 2013 to 2014, but even trying to use the setting this still comes up.

Has anyone else had this?

Any ideas or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks everyone.

When you open the P&ID Line List do your P&ID line tags appear? You are aware that there were some changes in P&ID with the release of Plant 3D and P&ID 2014? Mainly, the way P&ID lines are connected with Off-Page Connectors (OPCs). You might want to verify that you P&ID lines in your P&ID drawing are tagging and connecting as expected.

Since the line number tag is not being found by Plant 3D this is the reason for the message. So, in order to route pipe you will need to route the pipe using the P&ID line list.

Quentin, thank you for you continued support.

I understand that this is telling us to use the P&ID line list, and i have recommend this practice to my teammates, as it is how I feel Plant was intended.

The more specific question was:

How can i get the "3D project line number tag" to be "consistent" with the "P&ID line numbers"?

then my next question is:

Are they "inconsistent" because they have not been paired to the corresponding "P&ID line numbers"?

Since Plant3D is seeing them(i.e. the  P&ID line list and in the Properties).

As far as i can tell both line number tag have been made consistent; the only difference being the fields used to create the tag, as the P&ID fields come from the P&ID database and the P3D fields come from the P3D database.

Then this leads to some follow up validation questions... but i will save that for latter

Here is a great link that should help with matching up your P&ID line tags to your Plant pipe tags.

Great document !  Yes. But It's also sad that people are forced to go through such unnecessary configurations.

If this is something HAS TO BE DONE so that the program will work properly, than it should already been incorporated in the program.

Very annoying !

Hello @nlarez

If my memory does not fail me I had the same problem when I set line tag consisted of two properties. When I returned tag setting to one property back, it was fixed.

What properties do you use for the line tag in P&ID?

Best Regards,
Artem Marinin
