New to the Autocad Plant 3d, Cadworx User PLEASE HELP

I have a model that was sent to me that was drawn up in plant 3d. I have the 30 day plant version 2013.

When I open up the 3d-model it shows an error of "this drawing is a plant drawing but does not belong to the current project" then it does not show any piping properties. I tried copying the drawing into my current project but it is still looking for the project it was created in which I have zero access to.

Is there a way that I can reassociate the project to my current project and not lose that centerline/component information?? Or is there a setting in project manager that I need to change?

Its frustrating because these problems dont exist in a cadworx format.

thanks in advance!

You can't just open a Plant3D file as you would any other AutoCAD file.

Best thing to do would be to create a new blank project, and in the Project Manager, right click on the Plant3D folder, then select "Copy Drawing to Project" and the file will be imported. Its important to know the units of the original project too.

After that, you'd be able to interrogate the model (up to a point), if you don't have the specs and classes and a few other things from the original project, you might not be able to do much else.
