Missing Plant 3D 2015 content folder

I am preparing a deployment to install Plant 3D 2015 in our office. For some reason it does not create a C:\AutoCAD Plant 3D Content folder and install the catalogs and content there. I create a second deployment and had the same result.

I have also tried to modify the deployment and selected the "add content" button, located and checked the content from the USB media and it appears to add it to the deployment. However, when I run the deployment I am still not getting the content installed on the local machines.

Does anyone have an idea as to a possible solution?

Do you have Read+Write access to C:\ itself?

Yes. I am running the deployment as an administrator and it is writing all of the other program files to C:\ , just not the content catalogs.

Also, if I go to modify the deployment, when I get to the "select content" section of the Plant 3D configuration, it is blank.

Can you create a new deployment and see if the content exists?

I believe this might be related to a known issue that the development team is already looking into. However, here is a workaround that you can try.

Issue:

After installing Plant 3D 2015 from the subscription center you find that the Content Folder is empty.

Cause:

This occurs when you install using the web installer Install Now option.

Solution:

To workaround this you need to use the Browser Download or Download manager to download the installation files.

If you downloaded using the Browser Download option and intend to install via the deployment method you need to do the following:

Copy "Plant_Content" folder from the downloaded product folder ...\Autodesk_Plant_Design_Suite_Premium_2015_English_Win_64bit_dlm\Content

Paste the folder to the deployment directory ...\img\Content folder.

I was making the deployment not from the download, but from the physical media USB stick. I did recreate a 2nd deployment and had the same issue. Finally I tried installing to a machine straight from the media witout creating a deployment and this created the "AutoCAD Plant 3D 2015 Content" folder and installed the content catalogs.

I was then able to copy those to a network location and point all of the users to that folder via the "plantmodifysharedcontent" command.
