Linking Custom Spec To Custom PIDs

We have produced a custom PID library using clients symbology and tagging requirements.

We have also produced in house pipe and valve catalogs and formed a spec.

The challenge now is to link the two, is this possible?

I can link our PID symbols to Plant standard 3D content but not to what we have produced.

Any ideas?
