Iso dimension to back of flange

On some of my Isometrics the back face of flanges is dimensioned. How can I set the dimension style to turn this off?

It may help if you attached a screenshot of your current settings.

Also, which settings have you tried out? I recommend just trying a few different combinations and see if you get the results you're after.

Martin, thanks for your reply. I don't understand why any of the dimension settings would facilitate the dimensioning of the back face of a flange. This type of dimension is not valid for a piping isometric.

I have also had this issue, but only with SW flanges.

Is this the same for you?

I am seeing the issue with weldneck flanges.

I havenā€™t been able to reproduce this. What version of Plant 3D are you using? Is it up-to-date with service pack or extensions if 2014?

For flanged valves, I know you can select ā€œCenterā€ in the ā€œValve dimensioning behaviorā€ settings, but I donā€™t think that actually makes it go to center.  If you have ā€œcenterā€ selected there, that might account for dimensions on the flange side in those situations.

Does this occur on a new out-of-the-box project?

2014 ext 2.

Attached is an example.

I am using 2014 ext.2. The dimensions for valves are set for end to end. Since this only happens intermittantly, I'm not sure I would know if it occurs on an out of the box project without extensive testing.

Hello,

I recreated your ISO and also did not get the error (using 2015). Possibly the 1" component is somehow being selected into a different theme (for example: small bore).

There are several dimensioning themes, which is why you guys are seeing different behavior for weld neck vs SW flanges. My guess is that SW are only used on small bore lines and they have different settings. Isometrics can dimension either the front or back of any component. This is controlled by the ISOCONFIG.XML file.  Here are some notes from the developer:

It`s in each theme, each dimension type (3 types for each theme), and it`s not in UI. The value for Endpoint could be ā€œStartā€, ā€œEndā€, ā€œCenterā€ and a combine of ā€œStartā€ and ā€œEndā€ for overall length. You could search (<AnchorPoint Name="Flange") to locate them.
