Is this the appropriate software for me?

Looking for the best description of what Plant 3D does best? I work for  a small firm that does fairly small projects, but we've done a few larger pipeline projects (36"-60") The majority of what I do is pump stations, 2" to 8" piping, and sometimes larger too. We design the majority in ductile iron but also do PVC, carbon steel and stainless.

Is a small block library software (ie Mech-Q) enough?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I work in AutoCAD 2013.

have done projects ranging from 100 lines to 1200 so far, and working on a larger project right now, with inclusion of equipment and structure(for reference only). Currently using 2014 in our office. If you feel that the software is easy to use for you then go for it, if not satisfied then try using othere software as per your choice. Thanks
