Import STP to Plant 3D 2012

Hi

Isn't there a way to import STP-files to Plant 3D 2012 or MEP 2012? We will not update to 2013 until this winter.

/Mattias

You should be able to use Inventor Fusion 2012 to convert the stp file to dwg.

Is it not limited to 30 days of use?

No it shouldn't be.  I thought it came with AutoCAD 2012.  If not you should be able get it here: http://labs.autodesk.com/technologies/fusion/

We are using Autocad Plant 3D 2015. We have successfully imported STP files into our projects.

In AutoCAD 2013, they increased the functionality of the IMPORT command so that stp files could be imported directly.

Would you be able to give me a quick guide of how to convert step file to dwg using AutoCAD Plant 3D?...Without using Inventor.

Thank you.

Download a trial of 2016, start the IMPORT command, change the file type to stp. Save the block/dwg to whatever version you need (2010).
