When I try to Audit my project I'm getting the following error message:
“Exception of type ‘Autodesk.ProcessPower.DataLinks.DLException’ was thrown.”
“The project must be closed by all other users in order to perform this operation.
The project is currently open by another user. Please try again later.”
I've audited the project many times in the past so I'm aware of the procedure and the fact that everyone else has to be out of the project. We had a couple of licenses that were jammed up but we got those cleared up and I am now the only one pulling a license and I'm the only one that has Plant 3D 2013 open.
Any idea how to fix this? I've seen some posts with similar problems and they talk about replacing some files but I'm not sure which ones to replace and what to replace them with. Please help....
Your project probably crashed and did not delete the lock files. You need to get everyone out and delete these:
IsoPart.xml.plck
OrthoPart.xml.plck
PipingPart.xml.plck
PnIdPart.xml.plck
Everyone has gotten out of Plant 3D and when I go to remove the files that you've described it tells me that the files are open in another program.(see attachment for error message)
I made sure that everyone is out and I double checked to make sure that there aren't and licenses hung up.
What next?
Right-click the file - properties/details. Go to the computer of the "owner" of the file shown. Start the task manager and see if an instance of AutoCAD is running. Sometimes AutoCAD appears to close but still runs in the background. Just guessing here but that's where I'd start.
I still need an answer to this. It was bumped to Autodesk on the 23rd and still no reply from them....
Is your project on a server? If so, it may be that the server somehow has one of the project files in use even though no one is running Plant 3D. If you have an IT person/dept. to assist, have them check the server and manually release the lock on the file if this is the case.
We are still on P3D2013/SQLite. We plan to migrate to P3D2014/SQL Server early next week. Somehow, this issue seemed to resolve itself the other day. We can audit now. Thanks for the help...
Migrate to SQL server. It helps with stupid issues that are created by SQLite, such as the locked xml file.
