Huge directory for tool palettes

Hello

Today I've seen that the dirctory for the tool palettes became huge dimensions over 2 GB.

I think this is caused when switching the dynamic tool palette on/off. The palettes and the pics (bmp) will be copied into the directory every time I switch on.

(I don't need the palette for the piping specs, but for the pipesupportspec.)

How can I prevent these blow up of the directory?

Thanks Guido

Hi

I can't reproduce this here.

Could you provide the exact steps that cause the tool palette folder to increase in size?

Thanks,
Dan

Seen this a bunch. My main recommendation is to turn PLANTDYNAMICTOOLPALETTE off. You can build a non dynamic support palette, or turn it on only when needed. Whatever you do, if you have dynamic palette on, do not have network tool palette paths.

I haven't been able to find out if this was fixed in 2014 or not. Basically, I'm not a big an of tool palettes for the type of content we use in Plant.

I don't know why and when P3D copies all the files into this directory. May be it depends on the network path like Dave wrote...

I have turned the palette on and off this morning, and the directory did not increase....

Hi,

If you disable the dynamic tool palettes you can still use the support spec by renaming the palette before disabling.

Thanks,

Dan
