How do you set the pipe support componet defaults and keep them?

We do not want to edit common pipe support componet dimensions.

Hi,

What version of Plant 3D are you using?

Cheers,

Dan

If you are working in Plant 3D 2013 there have been some changes that will allow you to more easily set defaults.

The Pipe Supports spec Tool Palette has been redefined such that it is now powered by an actual Pipe Supports Spec that exists in your project's Secs folder.

You will want to open that spec in the Spec Editor. If the defaults you want to fill in are regular properties like Long Description and things of that nature you can edit those directly in the spec.  If you want to change default dimensions you will want to make those changes in the pipe supports catalog and add those edited components to the pipe supports spec. Editing the catalog should also provide those defautls to the "Add New Pipe Support dialog" which looks to the catalog and not the pipe supports spec as the Tool Palette does.

Hope that helps some,

-damian

Hi Damian,

i have the problem that new Supports, can't connected to the Pipe,

We work with Plant Design Suite Premium 2013 german.

There is no difference if you duplicate, create by variants or create from acad-bloc.

Hi Rasenberger,

Sorry I had missed this reply  -  Are you still having the connection issues?

Hy damian,

yes we have tis connections problems yet.

But only if yuo want to add a support from add button of the toolbox.

While using an normaly autocad block and using plantpipesupportconvert it works.

Ihope it would be better in the 2014 Version to make your own pipesupportspec.

Steffen

Is the attachement issue only when using the Ribbon button, or does it also happen with supports coming from the Tool Palette?
