Here is a list of all the problems we have encountered.

Hello,

Here is a list with all the problems we have encountered.

- If you make a adsk file with Inventor 2010 and import it into plant 3d, after a while it sometimes disappears.
- While working in the 3D plant drawings sometimes the spec disappears then you have to restart plant to see your spec again.
- If you import a dwg file as xref for example a steel construction with 4000solid parts you cannot handle the model anymore. (performance issue)
- Mirror: If you mirror a line the elbows,tee,weldolet,... are pointing to the wrong direction and you are not able to make a ISO from the mirrored lines.
- If you place a weldolet on 90° you can't select "flip part" so every time you need a new angle you have to place a new part.
- When placing a valve in vertical direction you can't change its elevation. (move in +Z/-Z)
- When placing a check valve and right behind it a ball valve you get the message "parts don't fit"
if you random place the ball valve, then select it and choose move, then select the check valve there is no problem.
- If you place a safety valve the direction of the handle/spring is always horizontal it should be vertical
- It is not possible to make your own actuators, control valves.
-Create spec with combined ANSI pipes with DIN flanges.
-If you place a support (clamp slide 1) and modify it afterwards it become very big, same issue for a ladder with cage
-When you have large assemblies ortho drawing doesn't work (AutoCAD crash)
-Not able to make a section view of the pipes.
- Opening a drawing is really slow waiting for my drawings about 10min
- In 3d environment handling the model is really slow if you rotate the model you're always waiting for the model to appear.
- about 15times a day AutoCAD plant 3d stops working.
-3d connexion space pilot not working very well in plant 3d
-custom part button is not always working (Application does not support just-in-time (JIT)
debugging. See the end of this message for details.)

Wish list:

- 3d performance like Inventor (in 3d environment and 2d)
- UI for customize the title block and the part list (iso drawings)
- ISO drawings to update according to the 3d model
- convert inventor models to valves
- add actuators to valves maybe attach a inventor part to a plant3d valve
- HDPE and PP catalogs
- easy way to export the model and import it in Inventor.
- Work with more people in 1project using vault to check in the entire project.

The most important thing is that it work stable
We use it for professional purposes not to play.

Operating system: Windows Vista x64 SP2
CPU: Dual Intel XEON x5550
RAM: 48Gb DDR3
Graphics card: ATI Firepro V8700 (FireGL)
Hard Drives: 4x 160Gb western digital Sata 300 10000rpm

Arjan,

Thanks for your posting. I'll make sure our QA folks see this so we can get
the bugs into our system. They may be contacting you for more details on
some of these. A number of these items are addressed in the current beta.

- Mirror.
This may be addressed in the beta. I know it's been previously reported.
- When placing a valve in vertical direction you can't change its elevation.
This may be in the beta.
- It is not possible to make your own actuators, control valves.
This may be in the beta. It is in our plans to address in a future
version.
-Create spec with combined ANSI pipes with DIN flanges.
I would have thought this is possible now.

- UI for customize the title block and the part list (iso drawings)
This is in our plans. I don't think it's in the beta, though.

- The most important thing is that it work stable.
I agree 100%.
