Field weld in middle of piping not at fitting?

Is there a way to show a field weld in the middle of a line (not at a fitting weld)? I am trying to show a field cut and weld in the middle of an existing line. I am going to cut at a specific place in existing line and continue from field weld as new piping. Am I missing something?

Unfortunately, there is no good way to do this now.  AP3D tries to create a single segment when edited, and there is no direct way to place a weld.  This is a feature that we are considering adding to a future release.
