FATAL ERROR: *Urgent*

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0xfffffff8 Exception at efdd241ah

Crashes on start up.....

Repaired - no change

Re-installed - no change

When it initially crashed, I renamed the project file I was working and added "bak" to it, in case it was causing the issue.

ACad / revit / ASD all start up without an issue, it is JUST P3D I am currently unable to work.

I put in a ticket, but does anyone have a suggestion aswell?

Did you clear the graphics cache:

and the local data cache:

Graphics Cache!

I backed up the directory then deleted everything inside.

Thank you very much Mr. Wolfe!

Instead of telling people to manually delete these cached files, why doesn't Autodesk resolve the actual problem? Has it even been identified? I have not been given an answer to this question and this problem seems to affect multiple Autodesk products starting with 2013 versions.

If not, is there a setting in Options that can turn off graphics cache? That way when I apply my custom profile, it gets turned off and I don't have to manaully turn it off at each end user workstation.

Hi Rick,

The graphics cache can be disabled as a workaround until the issue is fixed by development. The system variables for this are saved in the Windows registry:

CACHEMAXTOTALSIZE (System Variable)
