Our Plant users have a serious problem. Frequently, they are unable to update or edit Ortho views and get the error message "Missing Reference Geometry - Cannot update the 'view name' because the following referenced drawings cannot be found." The error I have seen seem to reference drawings that were created or edited on someone's else's desktop "c:\users\user1\desktop..." It seems like the Ortho view references insist on an exact location. The drawings that the Ortho view needs should be seen by Plant because all files are together in the same network folder. If it this was an xref, the xref would resolve normally. But Plant seems to insist on this path.
Is there some workaround that will allow us to forcablely change where the Ortho view looks for referenced drawings? I'm open to registry hacks, XML editing, etc. It would beat recreating the views.
So, drawings don't have to be in the project structure, but they do have to be in the project.

The ortho stores the id of the drawing (not the file name). So, it the drawing is removed then the link to the ortho will be gone. If you need to move the file, you should use the locate drawing option (right-click on the drawing in the project manager).
Hi everyone,
We are experiencing a problem with regards to Ortho diplay error related to Plant 3D 2017 + Vault 2017. Basically the thing is that we managed to migrate Plant 2013 projects to Plant 2017and the issue comes when migrating an existing Plant 3d 2017 project to a Plant Vault project, due to some ortho views dissapears and others dont.
