Dynamic Pipe Spec - Make Current

Dynamic Specs, neat! very nice. but let say i open up a model and wanted to place some component on a certain pipe.

is there a command that will set the dynamic spec, line number and size to match the pipeline that i want to work with? currently i just pull the + grip symbol to set the spec. it would be nice if theres a command similar to "make objects layer current". or perhaps just right click on the pipe and select MAKE CURENT, something like this.
