DWG as layout in 3D plant design suite

Hi,

Im working on a plant design in Plant 3D 2014, and i want a DWG which i got from our customer, as a layout in my piping model.

so i want to use the recieved layout drawing as a 'template' to check if my 3D-model corresponds with the customers drawing.

i know its possible, i just don't knw how.

kind regards,

XREF command?  add the DWG to the model then you can see how it lines up?

I have used existing 2D plan views with gridlines, dimensions, & annotation as an enhanced background for my 2d ortho shots.  Just create a 2D drawing with the ortho creator from the 3d models.  Then in model space, xref in your existing 2D background.  Create another viewport containing the xref with the same scale, & move the viewport to the correct position in paperspace on top of the other viewport.  It’s not ideal, but it works OK…
