DIM SCALE LINEAR - Not consistent across a single viewport

Can someone explain to my why the Primary Units Dim Scale Linear changes depending on what I attach a dimension to? This is very problematic for me. Sometimes it'll change with an Update View even. This isn't something that should be happening because the potential to have drawings going out with grossly inaccurate dimensions if very high? Please help!

Hopefully the attachment issue you’re having will clear up soon. I tested with an attachment here and it appears to work.

You may want to consider creating a quick video using Autodesk Screencast. This could help in getting better responses (since the Discussion Forum Community can see clearly what you’re dealing with in the video).

The result of that is that the DIM SCALE LINEAR value goes from -32 to 1024. Why would that happen? I can't understand why you'd want it to change?

Maybe trying a different web browser would help. Using Chrome, I was able to add that attachment earlier.

Sorry I missed your phone call Martin. I looked into what you said and it doesn't appear that the dim scale is changing. The only properties that are different between the 2 and shouldn't be are "Associative" and "Dim Scale Linear". The good dimensions lists them as "No" and "-32" respectfully. The dimension that is showing incorrectly is listed as "Partial" and "1024". If I type DIMSCALE at the command line it's set to 1 and my dimstyle is set to the same thing (FULL) for both dimensions.

What web browser are you using? anything other than Internet explorer has issues... well internet explorer has the least amount of issues.

I read the forum with chrome, but If I have to post, I have to load up IE.

*edit* or when I forget and post with chrome I usually have to load up IE and fix the post.

I used to use Internet Explorer with no problems but then a while back our IT guy said we should all start using something else and suggested Firefox. When I had this problem I switched to Chrome and it seems to be better but I still can't access the Options at the top of each post. I'll test out Internet Explorer again.

I tried to attach the dwg using Chrome and Internet Explorer and it wouldn't come across using either.

I’m not sure why these partially associated dims are changing the Dim Linear Scale on you when you adjust them. It may have something to do with the history or source of the drawing(?)  However, I noticed that when adjusting the non-associative dimensions at the column lines it doesn’t do this.

So the solution here is to make those dimensions non-associative before you adjust them.

This can be done with the command DIMDISASSOCIATE.  To Disassociate a Dimension

You may also want to change DIMASSOC to 1  DIMASSOC (System Variable)

Is this still the only solution to this? It really isn't very practical and this issue shouldn't happen if the first place. If I set the DIMASSOC to 1 I get the paperspace distances not the actual measurment. Has anyone else found a better solution/workaround for this???
