Custom Supports from Acad Primitives

We have created pipe supports from AutoCAD 3D primitives using the CONVERT SUPPORTS command. However, there is nothing that we can snap to like there is in the regular CREATE SUPPORTS command. How do we get something we can snap to?

Our project coordinates are around 4000', 4000', 100' and we noticed that using the CONVERT SUPPORTS command always places a snappable point at 0, 0, 0 for all supports created using CONVERT SUPPORTS. Is there a way to get CONVERT SUPPORTS to use the center of the pipe at the support rather than 0, 0, 0? Or do we have to move all of our supports to 0, 0, 0 first, use CONVERT SUPPORTS, then move the support to the real world?

You mentioned there is nothing to snap to when converting pipe supports, do you mean right after you select the 3D solid and it asks for an insertion point on the pipe or piping component? If so, that does seem a little tricky since the only way to snap to the pipe is using nearest OSNAP.

Hi Jason.

You answered it. I have to use the NEAREST snap to identify the origin point on the pipe. It works.

However, if I use the NEAREST snap, I can get close to where I want the origin on the pipe, but not the exact point on the pipe. I'm sure some out there would say, "Well, that's close enough." It shouldn't be 'close enough', but exactly on. But, thanks for the help.
