Create ortho not working!

Hi Guys / Gals,

All of a sudden when I Click "Create Ortho View" button the program just stops and no pop up window or anything happens.... If I click the screen it just beeps at me, I hit escape and it allows me back into drawing in plant.. Othro will not work!  I don't believe it is a program issue it's "Windows" Maybe?? Anyone had this issue before?   Any quick Fixes?

Have you tried ALT+TAB & then pick the dialog box?  I lose my Project Setup dialog box all the time & that works for me.

I just tried it but the window is not displayed with ALT+TAB either...  Isometric dialog box works but not the ortho's..

Was a good Idea though, thanks for your input!

Sometimes they disappear out in left field.  Have you tried Alt-Spacebar-M ?

No luck with this either 😞

With the Alt+Space+M command, move the arrow keys on the keyboard, and use the mouse to move the dialog back onto the screen.

What you describe does sound like the dialog is "off screen".  When all else fails, attache another monitor and then hopefully you will see it and can pull it back onto your main screen.

I have two monitors attached, I just tried the ALT+Space+M plus moving the arrows with no luck. It is as if CAD is trying to open the window and thinks it is open but windows isn't allowing it?

Hmmm....the mystery thickens.  Here are a couple "try this":

1) Close everything so that your two screens have nothing up.  Launch your Plant, grab the AutoCAD app window by the corner and shrink it down as small as possible.  Issue the command.  If you still don't see the dialog, hit ESCAPE, and move the shrunken window to the other monitor and try the command again.

2) Disconnect the second monitor.  Change the resolution on the main monitor to something ugly like 800x600.  Try the command again.

If that doesn't work, well bother.  Try Repair Install or Reinstall or Uninstall/Reinstall.

If that doesn't work, mega bother.

One last thought.  Have you changed any windows settings, such as "make fonts bigger".  I did that one time and while I didn't loose dialogs, they did distort greatly.

And another thought would be to reinstall .NET Framework.
