Is this still not possible or are there any changes in the meanwhile?

I would like to add instrumentation to the catalog and have them in a seperate group than the valves...

Also on the part lists.

The workaround is to export the catalog from the Spec Editor (File/Export to Catalog Builder).  Open the Excel file and change the PnPClass and Category columns values to "Instrument".  Save the Excel file and use Catalog Builder to 'Build Catalog' and select the Excel file.  Add the results to the catalog you choose (choose duplicate if prompted - Update will not change the class).

Note:  If you are creating the components with Catalog Builder then you can skip the export from Spec Editor and change the values from the Catalog Builder Excel file.

It works as described.

Only to bad it doesn't work with AutoCAD Custom blocks...
