Collars

I am currently learning and setting up 3D Plant.
I require collars on the end of my pipes for rotating flanges.
There are collars available in the catalogs DIN Pipes and Fittings Catalog.pcat and CustomParts Metric Catalog.pcat but I cannot see how to add these objects.
I noticed that when in the spec viewer the option to add collars to the palette is disabled.

Can someone explain the correct use of these objects and how I can achieve the collars I require.

Thanks

Hi Martin,

Collars are fasteners and as such cannot be placed manually. They are
automatically added to form the connection when needed and reside within a
connector entity (as a sub-entity).
There is a single joint definition named CollarLapped that adds a Collar and
a Buttweld when connecting a LAP end condition to either a BV or PL end
condition. It is superceded by StubLapped that is used in the same situation
but is found first. In Project Setup, Joint Settings, you can remove
StubLapped or change it so it is not picked up.

You can also change the situation when a Collar is used by either changing
the joint definition or creating a new one.

Hope this helps.
