can't modify the Centrifugal pump

When i place a 'centrifugal pump' in a 3D drawing, I can't modify it afterwards.

The 'modify Equipment' command (from pop-up on selected pump) just returns an 'invalid selection' and prompts for a new selection ...

Command:
Invalid selection. Only one equipment item can be selected.

Select Equipment to modify:
Invalid selection. Only one equipment item can be selected.

Select Equipment to modify:

I'm using version 2012 and it occurs both in metric and imperial projects. Other equipment (fe Turbine centrifugal pump ) work fine.

Can anyone else confirm this behaviour ? If not I need to check my laptop's installation ...

In my PC centrifugal pump work fine. Attach your 3D model with the pump and we will revise it.

I think that the problem is in your instalation. Because I can't copy, Assign TAG and modify your pump. I was insert new 2 pumps, you can change the their dimension and use in the project. And purge your pumps.

Yuri, The pumps that you inserted work fine.

Strange thing is that my pump shows 5 nozzles and yours 2 ?

Anyway I can save your pumps as templates and work from there.

I'll check where the software gets its equipment definitions, maybe my system is still using some unconverted 2011 stuff ?

Thanks for the help !!!

I had this problem too, it happens when something conflects with the base such as the motor.

I know this thread is old now, but there is no solution. The finding of a similar thread may explain why the pumps here have ended up with five ports.

Quote from thread "Equipment Nozzle Modification":

A co-worker of mine actually discovered that the reason my pump was breaking is because if you plug in a motor diameter that is too big (the radius of the motor exceeds the dimension from the top of base to center of motor) it breaks the pump into 5 pieces and it cannot be revised from that point on.  You just have to undo until it is no longer broken.  In our case because the dimensions were correct, we ended up making the pump with 3d solids and then converting it to an intelligent piece of equipment.

Although this does not appear to be a problem in Plant 3D 2018.

Hi All,

We've discovered yesterday, that we are unable to Modify equipment placed using an existing template (eg. a vertical vessel in our case, complete with nozzles). The template works, but becomes the default for settings, for each subsequent new equipment item created. So you end up getting stuck in a loop of not being able to create new, editable equipment of a particular class.

Another thread explained how to remove a registry key in order to restore equipment defaults. This does work, but it appears if we again attempt to use an existing equipment template, we run into the same problem of not being able to edit that new equipment.

This seems to be a glaring flaw needing a fix. We're using Plant3D 2019.

thanks,

Andrew
