Bolt, nut, washer

Is there a way to put nuts and washers beside the bolts in the ISO BOM.

Because they have different standards and materials.

And the stud bolts have two nuts, so you need 2x nuts as the bolts.

If this not part the software now will be added to the future release?

Thanks in advance!

Yes you can solve this in spec editor to make a new part

Thanks for the help!

But after that I create nuts and washers as new parts how can I attach them to the bolt set?

And I have another problem: the bolt lengths in the data manager of the model look like this:

M24x @@@ ,M24,M24

I understand that the @@@ will be the length of the bolt, but why the Plant3D does not put the actual value there after inserting to the model?

hi,

To handle this part you must type in properties length of yor bolt (thickness of the nuts+ thickness of the washers+ thickness of the flanges.)

@@@ this dont change. This program needs to calculate the total length of bolt (your length +length between  two flanges for exmple).

You can see my exmple for my bolt

Thanks!

So if I understand correctly the bolt length is fix value in the catalog.

I thought the Plant3D calculates the required bolt length from the model.

What will be the bolt length if you have a wafered check valve?

You will need longer bolts and only one set for the two flanges and the check valve.

Will the Plant3 calculate with this?

i have the same problem  with waffered components. 2 sets of bolts, one with @@@length and the other one with an incorrect value. Had to fix it manually.

Attila, did you managed to put the nuts and washers together in your bolt set? If yes, please tell us how.

Thank you.

same problem here.  with waffer items the program doesn't count and measure bolts correctly. this issue has been around since 2010 version. Still have to do it manually ?

Hello,

I also want to add a 2 washers to every bolt set. So I see them on isometric and on orthografic drawing.

Anybody know if this is possible?

Thanks!

Hi @Attila.Vallyon,

it is a missunderstanding with the fix bolt length in the spec editor!

Plant is able to calculate the specific bolt length of each set up.

Therefore you have to do some specific setups to get the correct connections.

First of all you have to set up the specific bolt lenght of your bolt sets.

After that you have to set up your flanges, gaskets and valves with there specific lenghts.

Now you are able to modify your bolt sets with calculated standard lengths.

After that you have to modify your set ups within your project and say how your connection should be working.

If this is done in the correct way you will get callculated bolt sets with specific lengths for connections with or without gaskets and also for all the different valve types and connection types. Also is it possible to get a different amount and kind of screws within a connection.

I hope i was able to help you

Kind Regards
