Bell End Auto Connections

I am trying to place bell and spigot piping and fittings. I am running into a problem when I click on the "+" symbol at the end of my tee. (see Pictures) Why does the pipe that is being produced try to connect automatically with a flange? I added the highlighted joints in my progect properties but I am still unsure what the problem is.

Is the default pipe in the spec flanged?

I think you settings are not correct.

If you want to set up some kind of male-female connection (like socket welded or threaded conn.) you should use the same structure.

For example:

Simple joints:

Name       End 1        End 2        Fasteners

Bell          BELL        SPIG         Gasket

And you may not have to set up compound joints, because there is no connection part between the BELL and SPIG.

I'm not sure if my default pipe in my spec is flanged. How can I check this and change it if I need to?

You didn't build the spec? In the Spec and Catalog editor, it will show what the defaults are.
