Autocad Plant3D 2013 - Gridlines

Good Day

I s there anyone that can assist me with the following regarding Plant3D:

  • How can I add gridlines and bubbles to ortho views. This will assist in dimensioning equipment and pipes positions from a gridline
  • We are using Revit for all building elements and I would like to link the Plant 3d file for coordination purposes (sheets). I know that graphics is an issue when u do the above. I done the following steps:
  • Export to ACAD in Plant3D - in Revit I create an in place family and import the export ACAD file, everything seems perfect, except for eccentric reduces of which the graphics are still messed up. Also I cant dimension to the pipes.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated for the above, because I am seriously starting to doubt Plant 3D as it seems to me that there's no workflow between these software.

Hello Adrian,

I'm not sure what do you want to do with the gridlines and the bubbles in ortho views but you can add them with normal AutoCAD commands into your ortho drawing. For example for the bubbles you can use a revision cloud with command REVCLOUD. For the gridlines you can use command XLINES or you can use simple (Poly-)Lines. You explained that you have trouble with the appearance of reducers from Plant 3D in Revit. I have tried it but on my end it looks fine. See the attached snapshots. What is the issue of your reducers in Revit? Can you send me a snapshot?

Hallo Adrian,
