One example, which is working. I probe to follow the steps of the tutorial and I have issue which I create .pyc file.

Hi Yuri,
The sample PY that can be downloaded from the documentation page here: plantregistercustomscripts produces the PYC and supporting output files (image attached) for me on W7x64. The catalog builder can consume PYC scripts after they are registered.
If you are having problems, check that the folder name is "CustomScripts". It needs to be created the first time (default path: C:\AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012 Content\CPak Common\CustomScripts).
The developer documentation and expertise necessary to create PY parametric scripts are beyond the scope of the Catalog Builder Beta. But if the plantregistercustomscripts command does not work, possibly you can attach your PY.
AP3D parametric shapes are available in compiled form, but not PY. You can select the compiled shapes in the Part Family View for parametric components. Specifically for square piping shape, that is not currently available.
Please note that that Catalog Builder on AutoCAD Plant Exchange has been updated to include custom python script example files and documentation updates.
You can find the updated Catalog Builder here:

Thanks. Comments are welcome.

Hi thanks for your replay, but I tryed to intall X86 Catalog Builder in WinXP and can not start to Intall with a fatal Error, so, for me X86 catalog Builder Beta edition does not work. maybe X64 works.
Thanks..
To install it, you need to unRar into your AP3D intalled folder, (Autocad Plant 3D english) and run it...
and Voila!..it´s works..!
In the case when I go to set the dimensions in the excel, in the column of OD (out diameter) I write the values in mm, for example:
88,9 - for pipe DN80
114,3 - for pipe DN100
When I export this excel sheet from Catalog Builder to one exist catalog the program don't recognize "coma", the OD result diameters are:
889
1143
??
Hi,
Currently, The Beta is only support period (".")delimiter.
Thanks & Regards,

I was prove with "." delimiter and it don't work too.
Hi,
I think this could be the computer delimiter issue.
Go to Control panel -> Region and Language -> click the Formats tab -> click the additional settings button -> change the “list separator” to “.”Instead of comma.
If this doesn’t work, please attach your excel file and I will try at my end.
Thanks & Regards,
When I try to start AutoCADPlant3DCatalogBuilder.exe Windows 7 64 German tells me that the program doesn't work anymore. The HowTo actually doesn't mention this AutoCADPlant3DCatalogBuilder.exe. So I'm wondering if it's needed at all.
Thanks for hints
Carsten
When the template are created with all objects of new catalog, and we create the excel, after one hour of defined the geometry of objects in excel I find that my nipple have all connection points together...( is imposible to define the each connection point separatly, one PL another FL for example). Which is the solution? Change the config in Catalog Builder and turn to create excel (purgeing my one hour of work)? Is posible to change only this object in CatalogBuilder and others sheets of excel don't touch, because have all geometry of objects defined.
Thanks
Hello Eileen,
I dowloaded Catalog Builder and followed all the steps in the accompanying docx file.
I was unable to run the testacpscript lisp program as mentioned in point 4 of the docx. This file does not appear to be available anywhere I have searched.
Point 5 e in the docx reads:
"Save the image to custom script folder. When user request the custom script images by image API, the image API will scan the custom script folder to fetch the images which meet requirement."
Please elaborate on "request the custom script images by image API".
Where does in fact TestScript component get accessed from? Plant3D? Spec Editor?
I feel I am missing some background on how and where I can put Catalog Builder to use.
