AutoCAD Plant 3D 2012 Service Pack is available now!

This service pack addresses the following issues:

  • Corrected a problem that prevented polyface and polygon meshes from displaying on ortho drawings.

Spec Conversion

  • Corrected a problem where unexpected spaces caused problems during AutoPLANT spec conversion.

Sloped Pipe

  • Corrected a problem that made it impossible to place a flange at the intersection of a sloped pipe and an elbow.
  • Corrected a problem that caused a cutback elbow to become disconnected after using the plantpipeslope command.

Isometrics

  • Corrected a problem that caused changes made to title blocks to disappear.
  • Corrected a problem that prevented welds sizes from being exported to a PCF file properly.

Pipe Cutback Angle

  • Corrected a problem that caused the loss of the cutback angle when using the substitute grip.

Report Creator

  • Corrected a problem that prevented Report Creator from opening projects that require SQL authentication.

Nozzle Tags

  • Corrected a problem that caused nozzle tags to reset inappropriately after using the auditproject command.

Plotting

  • Corrected a problem that prevented wipeouts from displaying in a plotted drawing, although they displayed properly onscreen.

Stretch Operation

  • Modified the behavior of P&ID objects and schematic lines during a stretch operation to improve the user experience.

Block Editing

  • Corrected a problem that caused changes made to a specific block in the block editor to affect other blocks in the project.
  • Corrected a problem that caused a hidden line (added during a block edit or symbol edit) to be displayed as a continuous line when a drawing is printed or plotted.

r.vandernd:

Thank you for reporting this issue. We are doing some testing here to figure out what might be causing this error. I'll let you know what I find out.

Meanwhile, can you tell me what OS you are installing on, and whether the original installation was via download or DVD?

Thanks,

Eileen

Eileen,

One system with Windows 7 Professional and a view systems with Enterprise.

All the systems are running on x64.

The installation comes from a Autodesk USB dongle.

Thanks, Robin

Hi there. The installation media (in your case, the USB) must be present when you install the service pack. Can you please check to see if that resolves the issue?

Thanks,

Eileen

Robin,

In order to help us track down this problem, can you please verify that you followed this procedure.

1 - insert the USB that the Plant 3D software was installed from

2 - Save the SP1 exe

3 - Right-click on the saved exe and select the 'Run as Administrator' option

If this does not resolve the problem, please let us see the error message(s).

Thank you for your patience.

Ian,

It will not work on our systems.

See the error in the attachment, the path with the folder 'Root' doesn't exist.

Can I get a version of P3D with SP1 integrated?

Or is it possible to slipstream the Service Pack into the installation files of P3D?

Thanks,

Robin

Hi again, Robin.

Ian Matthew is investigating your specific situation. We have been unable to reproduce the issue, though we have tried a few different scenarios.

I believe Ian has emailed you for more info. When we find a solution to your issue, we will post it to this thread so that anyone else with a similar issue can benefit from the resolution.

I hope this helps.
