AutoCAD 2013 Layout tab x AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013

Good night,

From version AutoCAD 2013 through the Layout tab allows you to create orthographic views and perspective. I did some tests trying to generate views of a 3D model of the AutoCAD Plant 3D 2013, but it was not possible. I wonder if there is any solution for this, because when I use entities AutoCAD Plant 3D it fails to generate 3D views and if the object is 3d solid from AutoCAD usually generates it. What do you think that Autodesk will do about this case?

best regards.

You want to create an Ortho drawing. I woundnt be doing views from a model in a model file itself. Have a look at the Project Manager for the Ortho tab and then make a new drawing there.

No, I don't want to create ortho of AutoCAD Plant 3D!!! I want to create a new view from layout tab AutoCAD 2013, because is more detailing, for exemplo the type lines, dashed, continuos...what do you think about this case?

thank's

That's what Ortho's is, generating a view from the model. You don't create Layout tabs in the 3D model file then create views from that, you create a new DWG and then reference the model into it and create the view using the Ortho functionality.

Unless I misunderstand your question, and you want to create different modelspace viewports showing each side of the model and a Iso view?

I think vfpereira is referring to the fact that you can get more detailed information from the new AutoCAD 2013 documentation features.  The new features have hidden lines and include more drawing detail than Plant 3D orthographic drawing have. 😞

Vfpereira, because Plant 3D uses object enablers, routines that run based on AutoCAD solids (like the new 2013 features) have to be modified to work with the Plant 3D objects.  As this is the first release of those features, I'm sure that most if not all of the vertical objects do not work with the new documentation features.  Bummer, 'cause those drawings look great.

export to autocad of the Plant3D models then use the new layout methods to create what you are wanting. (won't be a true live change but nearly there.
