Auto Update of Ortho drawings

Hi,

Will changing a 3d drawing automatically update the corresponding ortho
drawings in Plant3D ?

Thanks,
Tilz

Tilz,

Not with the current release. You will need to recreate the ortho to see
updates in the model. This is another thing that we're considering improving
in a future release.

It was almost twenty years ago that a German company wrote an AutoCAD add-on called Genius. This later got bought out buy Autodesk and became Mechanical Desktop. The people that wrote that software so long ago where real absolute geniuses. You can still find remnants of "GEN" directories in AutoCAD Mechanical (2010) install.

It was so great to create something in 3D then create 2D views and then watch views update as you changed your 3D model.
That is the way to work!!!, I almost cried when Autodesk removed that feature from AutoCAD.
But I live in hope that it's going to come back in some other form, maybe here in AP3D.

Not having auto-updating ortho views is like swimming with concrete tied to your body. It's so slow and painfull having to re-create views. My pet hate is having to re-create anything while drafting.

Please, please bring back Auto-updating views. It is sooo important. We really need it.
