I was wanting to apply into the File Name Format the Area drawing property. I would like the File Name Format to have the users enter in the Area (even select from a selection list) and then have the entry fill out the property of the Drawing. Creating the Selection List is easy enough, but getting it to fill out the Drawing Area Property seems to be another matter, and may require programing. But I thought I would check here first. By the way, I have dug into PLANTDEFINECALCPROPERTIES and don't see how to "make it do it" from there.

I assume you’re using the “Drawing Area” drawing property to designate Plant Area. To get the Plant Area to show in the file name format, one way would be to simply include Plant Area as “String” or “Numeric” text field (see attached image). The user would need to type in the area when creating the drawing.
To automate this, somehow mapping the Drawing Area property into the File Name Format, I don’t think is doable currently if that's what you mean.

Hi,
I am trying to do something similar to this user's request and since it looks like a pretty old post I'm hoping that maybe there have been some advancements in how Plant 3D controls filenames for non-isometric drawings.
I am looking to automate or set portions of the filename because they are always the same. An example would be "STN-DWG-1234-D-A1" Where STN-DWG is always the same for every drawing on this project. I don't see a way to build up the filename using a prefix or set value for some of it. Where is the list of properties being pulled from when defining the parts of a filename? I have been digging around (including in the XMLs) and have not found where I could define a property and assign a value much like a project property and have it show up in the drop down for Type.
