3d Ortho Boundaries keep resetting thier bourdaies when i edit view.

I have some ortho views and when ever i goto edit them the 3d box that represents the boundaries of the ortho view that i am editing resets it self to a different size. But if i only right click and update view it does not do this, only when i goto edit it like for instances i want to change the limits of the boundary. It also changes the scale back to 3/8" = 1'-0". Any ides as to why this is happening? Thanks.
