2011 Spec Editor - "Convert External Specs and Catalogs"

Has anyone had any success with using the new 2011 Spec Editor function, "Convert External Specs and Catalogs"?

It converts .CSV files (which is what I have) to catalogs or specs, but the online documentation says nothing about how to setup the .CSV file for import. The top level document says these new features are for importingfrom AutoPLANT specs or catalogs. So are there any AutoPLANT experts out there that can help with the file format that AutoPLANT exports to?

Hi

Read your Whitepaper and try it to import a easy ELBOW like in your whitepaper, Autocad import the file but if i open the Spec i cant see my ELBOW

Could you send/upload the csv Files in the whitepaper for testing, and see who the structure must be?

here my little File

Hello,

I also try to create a catalog with the csv-import functionality. In a small sample I created the required column "CLASS_NAME_DEF" and one entry with the class “AT_PIPE”, which is a part of the standard configuration.  The spec editor creates the catalog but it is empty.

I try it with the Plant 3D Version 2012.

Have anybody in the meanwhile get a small sample which works?

Attached you will find my sample.
